What You Can Expect

Changing the interior design of your home is an important investment, and not only in financial terms. It has a lasting impact on the quality of your environment, and it is vital to get it right. Many personal choices have to be made, and the vast array of products and ideas available can be daunting and confusing, leading to potentially missed opportunities or compromises which can result from confusion and sheer exhaustion. Managing a project from start to finish can sometimes be rewarding, but it is unquestionably time-consuming and usually stressful. Having an experienced, trained, reliable and friendly designer by your side opens the door to new ideas and products, and takes away the stress of project management. It allows you to stand back from the detail and focus on making the right decisions, avoiding mistakes that can cost you time and heartache as well as money. In short, the involvement of a properly qualified and experienced interior designer will add a new, professional, dimension to your project, which will be completed on time, within budget and to your complete satisfaction.

My Service

I offer a full design and project co-ordination service, or I am happy to give advice and supply fabrics, wallpapers and accessories as required. I like to work very closely with my clients, giving them the opportunity to be creative in their own environment, but guiding them every step of the way through their project to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. I am just as at ease designing functional and comfortable kitchens, bathrooms and studies as I am with reception rooms, bedrooms and other living spaces.

A four poster bedroom

From colour board and samples to the finished result – a four poster bedroom

After our initial meeting and listening to what you would like to achieve, I will make outline proposals to discuss with you, taking into account existing furnishings, fittings, paintings, accessories, lighting, etc. Once we have agreed a general approach I will, where appropriate, prepare detailed design schemes with plans, drawings, colourings and sample materials, accompanied by detailed cost and time estimates (Click to see a sample estimate*). I retain an extensive knowledge of currently available fabrics, wall coverings, lighting, soft furnishings and other accessories, and am particularly comfortable in mixing patterns and colours to creative effect.

I enjoy working with clients on the design of fitted furniture and the choice of free-standing furniture and soft furnishings for traditional and contemporary interiors alike, and on picking out antiques and paintings if required. You will receive top quality work and products, and will discover that I have an intensely practical approach to project co-ordination, attaching as much importance to delivering results to schedule and budget as to creative design.

My remuneration is based either on design fees or margins on products and services I supply, depending on the nature of the project and on your wishes. I prefer to work with my own sub-contractors – decorators, curtain makers, upholsterers, fitters, etc. – to ensure the highest quality of work, for which I take full responsibility.

No project is too large or too small.
